American Pygmy-kingfisher
Sunday, January 3rd, 201028th Dec., 2009. A new kingfisher came to the fishponds. Luckily all the visitors saw it and took some photos. It was a very small bird, quite similar to the Green-and-rufous Kingfisher but it appeared to have a darker head. It did not bob it’s head when it called, as the Green-and-rufous Kingfisher does. Interestingly, it had a white tag on it’s left leg.
